The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, along with Samsung, is announcing that approximately 43,000 Samsung Over the Range Microwaves are being voluntarily recalled. If you own one of the recalled models please discontinue use of your appliance. Any effort to resell an appliance after a recall has been issued is against the law.
Samsung discovered a danger involving an installation bolt, there is a possibility of it touching an electrical component inside the appliance, if this occurs and the unit is attached to an underground outlet there is a danger of electric shock. This is a preemptive recall, as of yet there have been no reported incidents or injuries.
The units effected are Samsung thousand watt over the range microwaves, made in Malaysia between 1/2009 – 6/2009 with the following information.

These units were sold throughout the country between 1/2009 and 7/2009 and they retailed from $180 to $200
Owners of these affected microwaves need to cease all use of unit, and disconnect it from its power source, then you can call Samsung to make an appointment for a free repair of the microwave.
