Bel Air Estates Appliance Repair Tips

A Viking Gas Oven is a convection cooking appliance with adjustable racks, infrared broiler and a large capacity. The manufacturer provides a limited warranty on these high quality ovens. These troubleshooting steps can help you diagnose and correct the problem when your oven won’t heat. If you need further assistance, contact Hi-Tech Appliance Repair.

Electrical Power

Verify that the oven is plugged into a functioning electrical outlet. Check to see if the circuit breaker has tripped or the fuse is blown. Replace the fuse or reset the breaker as required.

Gas Supply

Bel Air Estates Appliance Repair recommends that you also inspect your gas supply line to ensure that the valve is not off. If it is off, turn the valve counterclockwise to the full “On” position and attempt to relight the oven. Inspect the supply line to insure that it is not bent or blocked.

Clogged Pilot Light Opening

The pilot orifice may be clogged with food residue or baked-on grease and grime. Turn off the oven and disconnect it from the electrical socket to ensure that the oven doesn’t light while you are cleaning the pilot light opening. Gently clean away the blockage with a small wire or straight pin, and then restore the power.

Control Knob and Oven Door

Check the control knob to ensure that it’s not set beyond the broiler marking. If the knob is turned too far, the oven won’t light. Tighten the knob if necessary. If your oven door won’t open, verify that the self-cleaning cycle is over. The door automatically locks and won’t open for safety reasons until the cleaning cycle is finished. If the self-cleaning cycle fails to start, Bel Air Estates Appliance Repair advises you to ensure the door is fully closed. Remove any debris keeping it from fully closing.
